Top 10 Amazing Facts About Moldova

Hello Friends:

Welcome to Countries Facts so Today In this Article I will show you top 10 Amazing facts about Moldova let's start this Article off with some of the basics now the big one is where is this country located good question well looking at the good old world map.

1 Moldova is a European country which most people think is actually pretty small but surprisingly it's actually pretty big maluma is nestled right in Eastern Europe stuck between the countries of Ukraine and Romania which I've also done some videos on those two nations and I'll put it in the description box below or in the cards.

2 Moldova is a landlocked country and does not have any form of shoreline the shoreline to the east on the Black Sea is the area that Ukraine owns however it's one of the few countries in all of Europe that only has borders with two countries the other countries within Europe are places like Sweden.

3 Lichtenstein Estonia and the Netherlands which also done videos on those remember how I said the country is a lot bigger than what most people think well how big is it currently in its state the country comes in at approximately 33,000 846 kilometres square now this is obviously including Transnistria and why I bring up Transnistria.

4 Transnistria is because this is a location within the country that has some form of territorial dispute a simple overview of it is that in 1992 there was some issues with people living within this region after the fall of the Soviet Union pretty much the Moldovian Soviet Socialist Republic didn't want to be part of Moldova.

5 Moldova and nd this erupted into a conflict in today's world it's classified now as an unrecognized state that split off from Moldova but Moldova hasn't recognized that and because of that in the United Nations it says no I'm sorry but you're still part of Moldova you can't just say we're our own thing it doesn't work that way which reminds me I might eventually in the future talk about this issue because I like getting into those sort of topics so if you're interested that is give it a like button and that's um you know down there that being said with this chunk of land Moldova sits at approximately one hundred and thirty fifth in the world however without Transnistria

6 Transnistria it would come in at twenty nine thousand six hundred and eighty-three kilometers square now this country also has a water percentage of approximately 1.4 percent and speaking about water did you know that most of the water supply comes from underground sources one major problem however with in Moldova.

7 Moldova its current state is soil and water pollution now these are certain locations within the country where there were heavy pesticides that were used during the Soviet rule and some of these pesticides were even in fact banned by the West and it's said that within the early 90s Moldova used 20 times more pesticides than any other Soviet state country unfortunately this issue is not just only within Moldova other countries that were a part of the Soviet Union have this problem as well now is a really funny thing the country known as Moldova gets its name from the Moldova River however the Moldova River.

8 Moldova River is located in Romania and is nowhere near while it's near but not that close to Moldova I was found that kind of bizarre of course at one point Moldova was the Moldavia territory which was a really big region in Europe until it had a union with watch eeeh in 1859 all right now let's just jump back to the numbers game for a bit let's talk about population in today's world including Transnistria it has about three million three hundred and fifty thousand nine hundred people which makes it have a density of 75 people per square kilometer now I'm not sure if that was taken from the census which was done back in 2014 or if that's a 2018 estimate basically seventy five percent of the country identifies as Moldovans whereas seven percent are Romanian 6.6 percent are you crane Ian and about 4.6 percent of the people identify as gay gasps which are pretty much.

9 Turkish of descent in a sense but the GAO has people realistically their origins is really kind of a mystery they don't really know all too much and of course under that there is also Russian and many other different forms of people but for religions I don't know what you guys guessed but believe it or not 93% of people identify as Orthodox Christians that's right the second-highest of this is obviously Protestant which is way under 2% now the other thing that I found really interesting about Moldova is that they do not speak their own language as a matter of fact.

10 They speak Romanian that's right they use the Romanian alphabet the language and all that sort of stuff that of course does not mean dialect or accent there are some slight differences from what I've been told either way guys that is it that's all I got in this episode for the facts about Moldova now before you guys get out of here I just wanna let you guys know you generally do another to this.

We will see you tomorrow with another interesting Takecare of yourself have a great day God Bless you.
